Hi there! I’m Leanne, a freelance writer. I am formally trained in business, marketing, economics, and proofreading. In addition to writing articles and blogs for other publications, I run a blog and newsletter called The Inconstant Gardener. My writing covers a diverse range of topics from wildlife-friendly gardening and growing vegetables to wellbeing, and from museums and travel to business and disability advocacy.

Why ‘The Inconstant Gardener’?

My blog’s name marries my profession as a writer with my experiences of neurodiversity and disability. It’s a pun derived from the novel by John Le Carré (The Constant Gardener) plus a reference to my ADHD, autism, and CFS/ME. Sometimes I stop gardening to look at the wildlife, or I stop to find out a lot about a plant. In other words, I’m not constantly gardening.

The blog, newsletter, and Instagram account for The Inconstant Gardener is a mix of tales of gardening and bumping into the wildlife, exploring museums and the UK, plus quizzes.

My Garden

I currently share a garden – growing fruit, speedy vegetables, herbs, salads, and companion flowers in a container garden. My approach is wildlife-friendly, for all wildlife – including the slugs, wasps, greenfly. Everything. Latest posts include tips about vegetables for container gardening and why you should spare slugs.
